Repair of Structural Defects on R.C. Wharf & Platform

The project is for a very busy port catering mainly to shipping vessels transporting general and RORO cargoes and passengers to other provinces. It is a reinforced concrete wharf and is operated using RORO facilities. The wharf structure was reported of dilapidation and was proposed for structural repair using fiber reinforced polymers or FRP.

EC Structural Composites, Inc. proposed the use of the Tyfo SEH 25A SW-1 and SW Systems to restore and strengthen the structure. Corroded rebar were replaced and the surface is restored to an even surface using Epoxy resin. The structural members were wrapped with the Tyfo Glass Fiber for strengthening and corrosion protection.

Working on a busy port, the Port Management could not afford any disruption to their operations. The Tyfo Fibrwrap Systems is proven to be very responsive to this need due to ease of installation. The result is a stable port structure wit
